Vital GRP recently supplied and installed a raised GRP wash bay floor in the valet bays of a newly built Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Bristol. Designed to withstand the full weight of vehicles, the open mesh surface allows dirty water to drain through efficiently eliminating standing water that could splash onto freshly cleaned cars or create a slip hazard for staff.
Manufactured from Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP), our anti-slip grating delivers exceptional durability while being a fraction of the weight of traditional galvanised steel. This lightweight design makes installation faster and easier, without the need for heavy lifting equipment. Even in wet, soapy, or oily conditions, Vital GRP wash bay floors remain non-slip, ensuring a safe working environment for operatives and technicians.

GRP is non-sparking, meaning no hot works permits are required during installation. It can also be cut and adjusted on site to achieve a perfect fit. Unlike galvanised steel, GRP will never rust, rot, or warp, providing long-lasting reliability and minimal maintenance.
Each wash bay floor is built on a cut-to-size GRP profile framework, precision-prepared in the Vital GRP workshop for a quick, accurate installation. Removable hatches can also be included for easy access to drainage systems and maintenance areas.
