Chamber Cover Replacement
Location
:
Southend (Anglian Water Site)

Project Overview
Vital GRP was approached by M&C Engineering to design, manufacture, and install a replacement chamber cover system for an outfall chamber located at an Anglian Water site in Southend.
The existing steel cover had been removed by the client due to significant corrosion and damage, leaving the chamber exposed and in need of a durable, long-term replacement.
Our Approach
Following an initial site visit, our team carried out a full survey and worked closely with the client to explore suitable GRP options. Based on the site conditions and operational needs, we proposed a complete GRP frame and solid top floor system designed to fully enclose the outfall chamber offering strength, safety, and corrosion resistance.
Once approved, our design team produced detailed fabrication drawings before our workshop began cutting and assembling the GRP frame in-house. Prefabrication ensured a fast and efficient installation once materials arrived on-site.

Delivery & Outcome
Our site team completed the installation ahead of schedule, achieving a clean and precise finish that met both M&C Engineering's and Anglian Waters reguirements.
